This work unfolds in stillness. A single act—measured, restrained—releases water into space. Not rushed, not forced. The motion suggests relief, perhaps grief. The water becomes a vessel: it carries weight we cannot see.
The figure is introspective, withdrawn. Behind him, an unused ladder leans—an emblem of elsewhere, of possible ascent or escape. Yet he stays grounded. What matters is the descent, not the climb.
Lines are rough, tonal contrast subdued. The absence of vivid color deepens the emotional ambiguity. Nothing is imposed; meaning emerges slowly, like water drawn from the self.
What Water Carries speaks to what we let go of—and what remains in the letting go. A meditation on burden, release, and the quiet echoes that follow.
