Between Embrace and Fracture

Ink and acrylic on paper

Between Embrace and Fracture explores the delicate threshold where connection begins to dissolve and inner tension becomes visible on the surface. The composition revolves around two opposing forces: a lighter, ascending form on the left and a darker, weightier presence on the right. They reach toward each other while simultaneously pulling apart, creating a charged space between them — a space where meaning is suspended rather than resolved.

Fine red lines run through the image like veins or scars. They act as both connectors and disruptions, binding the forms together while revealing underlying fractures. These lines introduce a quiet emotional intensity, suggesting moments that hold, break, or transform.

The layered acrylic and ink build a rhythm of transparency and density. Soft washes open the work, while opaque gestures reclaim the visual field, allowing the eye to move through shifts of breath, pressure, and release. This tension between fluidity and resistance is central to how I shape abstraction and give form to physical and emotional states.

Rather than offering a fixed story, the work invites contemplation. It balances on the edge of harmony and rupture, strength and vulnerability — an intimate meeting point where what holds us together is as fragile as what pulls us apart.
